Renowned as the producer of the number one luggage on the PGA TOUR, Club Glove USA offers a variety of lightweight and heavy-duty gear – golf travel bags, rolling duffles, carry-ons, and specialty luggage like travel kits – that are highly reliable for travelers and golfers alike, and also made in the United States.

It’s really simple. For over two decades, no other brand has been used by more serious players at every level (who travel with their sticks) than Club Glove.

“We found a niche in the golf industry, and that is providing outstanding travel gear to get us to our desired golf destination,” Herold said. “And we’re a small company that is actually more like a small family, so I’d give credit to everyone here for [our] success.”

Club Glove’s parent company, West Coast Trends, Inc., was founded in 1990 by Jeffrey Herold, an avid surfer who is also a golfer, a pilot, and an entrepreneur. During one of his favorite pastimes (surfing), Herold came up with a novel idea – to turn his wetsuit into protective golf club head covers, a line that would eventually be named The Club Glove.

Herold, the company’s President and CEO, also recognized the need for a quality golf travel bag and spent almost a year designing the sturdy “Last Bag,” which is intended to be the last travel bag that customers will ever have to buy. The Last Bag was named by Golf Digest as one of the sport’s top 10 innovations over the last two decades. In addition, Club Glove says its products are used by over 90 percent of professional golfers on all U.S. tours combined.

Almost every U.S. Ryder Cup team has used Club Glove products in some capacity since 1997.

To further improve upon its customers’ experiences, whether they’re touring professionals or amateurs taking trips with buddies, Club Glove offers an extended five-year “No Questions Asked” warranty option (in addition to its standard product warranty) for its travel luggage line. If Club Glove can’t repair the damage, the entire product will be replaced for free.

Club Glove uses a woven nylon fabric (Invista Cordura 100 D Nylon) that’s three times more durable than standard polyester, twice as strong as standard nylon, and features a water-resistant polyurethane back coating. Club Glove products also utilize premium hardware – durable YKK zippers and high-quality molded buckles and hardware – as well as a signature riveting pattern that enhances the strength of handle attachments. In addition, the company’s soft cushion skate wheels and bearings provide a smooth ride and soft feel.

While golf luggage is the prime component of Club Glove’s business, the California-based company also sells golf accessories – from head covers, club protectors, and caddie towels, to golf gloves, ball markers, and divot tools.

NGF Takeaways

Club Glove’s sales have remained consistent the last few years – at a time in which many golf businesses have faced sales declines. This not only speaks volumes about the quality of Club Glove’s products, including the industry significance of the Last Bag, but the relationships the company has formed with customers as well.

As destination golf and buddies trips have become such a staple of the game, Club Glove has established a strong and stable foothold in its sector of the industry.
