SiteOne Landscape Supply is the largest and only national wholesale distributor of landscape supplies in the United States, with a presence in the golf industry that is robust and growing.

SiteOne’s 170-page catalog for golf professionals is loaded with all the supplies needed to maintain a course — from turf products, grass seeds, bulbs, weed barriers, erosion blankets, and landscape soils and mulches to fertilizers, herbicides, soil testers, insecticides, fungicides, colorants and growth regulators.

“We are committed to those who make the game come alive,” SiteOne says on its website.

As the biggest distributor in the $17 billion landscape supplies market, SiteOne is seeking to even further expand its reach in the golf industry by hiring former PrimeraTurf CEO John Gertz last year to head up its agronomics category.

(John Gertz has taken over SiteOne’s agronomics category.)

SiteOne was established in 2001, when Deere entered the market for a wholesale landscape distribution through the acquisition of McGinnis Farms, an irrigation and nursery product supplier primarily based in the Southeast. In 2013, John Deere Landscapes was purchased by Clayton, Dublier & Rice. With new management came a focused business strategy to drive organic growth and make new acquisitions.

In 2015, the company – which has acquired about 18 businesses and brands over the past three years — changed its name to SiteOne Landscape Supply.
