Co-founded in 1989 by 51-time PGA TOUR winner and three-time major champion Billy Casper, eponymous Billy Casper Golf (BCG) has since burgeoned its course ownership and management portfolio to a scope befitting its Hall of Fame namesake.

The largest privately held management company in the United States, BCG owns or operates more than 140 facilities, with properties in 29 states. With more than 130 municipal and daily-fee golf facilities among its stable, BCG is the country’s largest manager in the public play category.

From public plays, resort destinations, driving ranges, community courses and private clubs, BCG has a laudable diversity in its portfolio.

Billy Casper Signature, a recent addition to the company, was created as a boutique division that specializes in country club, resort and private club management.

Also under the Billy Casper umbrella is Buffalo.Agency, a public relations, content marketing and social strategy company that represents an ever-growing roster of leading and emerging golf brands and initiatives. Buffalo has been especially visible in the golf space through its work with the World Golf Foundation and CEO Steve Mona, helping oversee public relations for the game through the “We Are Golf” campaign.

Billy Casper Golf’s prominence as an operator in the municipal golf space is particularly noteworthy. The company makes data-driven decisions that, when paired with inspired content and design, yield high-performing marketing initiatives.

An example of this approach is Billy Casper Golf’s management of 16 courses and three driving ranges in Cook County and the City of Chicago, where BCG was able to grow the Chicago Park District’s revenue by $1 million in just a year’s time. In Tulsa, Oklahoma, BCG helped the city grow rounds by 39 percent at its two 36-hole facilities and increase net operating income by more than $1 million in less than two years.

BCG has more than tripled the number of courses it manages over the past decade and also continues to grow golf experiences through creative, custom solutions. Among them is its innovative World’s Largest Golf Outing, an annual, national golf fundraiser which takes place simultaneously at over 110 BCG-managed courses and has raised more than $3.4 million for military veterans since its inception in 2011.
