Research shows that the earlier people are introduced to golf, the more comfortable they will be with the game and the greater likelihood that they become a committed golfer at some point.

So, what percentage of kids ages 6 to 17 have been exposed to golf in a school setting at least once in their lives?

The First Tee’s golf program is in more than 10,000 elementary schools.

NGF research finds that 28% of kids — a total of 14 million — played some form of golf in a school setting.

Within the past year, 16% of kids learned about or tried golf in schools through programs such as The First Tee’s National School Program, which is in more than 10,000 elementary schools across the United States.

So with classes back in session, here’s hoping golf is a part of the lesson plan at your local elementary school.
